Residenza Claudia: Bringing a New Residential Development in Minusio to Life

CGI and digital material for a five-storey development combining panoramic views, energy efficiency and refined residential comfort.

Project Overview

Residenza Claudia is a contemporary residential development located in Minusio, Switzerland, designed to take advantage of its exceptional surroundings and views. Our task was to create a series of high-quality exterior and interior visualizations that would support the project's marketing efforts and communicate the character of the development before construction.

Working closely with the developer, our goal was to produce imagery that felt authentic to the location while highlighting the architectural qualities of the project and the lifestyle it offers future residents.

The Challenge

One of the most important aspects of this project was accurately representing the building within its real-world context. The location plays a significant role in the appeal of the development, making it essential that the visualizations reflected the surrounding environment as faithfully as possible.

To achieve this, we carried out multiple on-site visits and captured a series of drone and ground-level photographs that would later serve as the basis for precise photomatching. While the terrain itself was not particularly complex, the site sits on a gentle incline, requiring careful alignment of the 3D model with the photographic material to ensure a convincing result.

The project also required balancing realism with marketing objectives. Together with the client, we developed a visual mood that emphasized the quality of the architecture while maintaining a natural and believable atmosphere.

Our Approach

The developer supplied a 3D model of the project, which we optimized and refined before beginning the visualization process. This included model cleanup and the addition of architectural details that helped enhance the overall presentation, such as façade cladding and other finishing elements.

Using the drone photography and site imagery as a foundation, we integrated the architectural model into its surroundings through a detailed photomatching workflow. This allowed us to create visuals that accurately reflected the site's topography, neighboring buildings, vegetation, and views.

The exterior imagery was designed to showcase the development's relationship with its surroundings, while the interior visualizations focused on creating inviting living spaces that future buyers could easily imagine themselves inhabiting.

Technical Workflow

The project was developed using a visualization pipeline built around:

  • 3ds Max

  • Corona Renderer

  • Chaos Scatter

  • RailClone

  • Adobe Photoshop

This combination allowed us to efficiently manage environmental details, vegetation, architectural refinements, and final image post-production while maintaining a high level of realism throughout the project.

The Result

The final deliverables included a collection of exterior and interior visualizations created specifically for the project's marketing campaign. By combining accurate photomatching with carefully crafted lighting and materials, the images provide a realistic representation of the future development and its setting in Minusio.

The project further strengthened our ongoing collaboration with the developer, leading to additional visualization work on subsequent developments.

Behind the Images

Creating architectural visualizations is about more than producing attractive renders. For Residenza Claudia, the success of the imagery depended on understanding the site, capturing accurate reference material, and carefully integrating the architecture into its real environment. The result is a set of visualizations that not only present the design but also communicate the experience of living there.
